Reindeer's Blush

I haven't posted awhile......so I'm in catchup mode.  Here's a small commission I painted just before Xmas.  They went to Maryland and Alaska.

Reindeer's Blush is a diptych of 2 reindeer knee deep in tundra moss.  They are both blushing from the chill. 

 

Hatchlings (series)

This is a series of 8 cute and colorful baby sea turtle hatchlings at various stages of hatching!  Each fully formed baby turtle will be independent and face many perils in life.  Hatchlings  are on eight mini 6x6 canvases. 

Painted Ponies on Pineapple

This band of frolicking wild ponies are kicking up colorful dust.  It is on a super bright pineapple yellow.

My....What Big Eyes You Have!

The Saw Whet Owl is a tiny gnome-like bird with enormous eyes!  In proportion to its head.....the eyes take up a third of the owl's face.  These four little individuals are resting high on a branch.

My...What Big Tail You Have!

I had a big up-rooting this year.....moving from the East Coast to the West Coast......landing in Southern California.  My paint supplies & brushes are unpacked and I'm back on the canvas!
 

 My latest is the mystical Snow Leopard.  This crazy colored cat has an unusually big tail.......proportionally equivalent to the length of its body.  This helps the animal balance when jumping over rocks and crevices.

Painted Rocks!

I've been getting ready for a local art show & workshop for Painted Rocks.   Painting on rocks is a unique medium that can be fairly labor intensive......requiring minute details using tiny brushes & alot of patience!  But each piece is a unique study with lots of character, and a great way to paint two dimensionally on a three dimensional surface.

This long legged foal is a spotted Leopard Appaloosa Horse, whose dark spots and patterns are individual and unique.

Whoa!  Everyone brake for this bright family of skunks!  Skunks have very striking coats.....they are easily recognizable with their universal warning colors!
